Hi, I’m Kim Laslo, licensed cosmetologist and salon owner of Hair by Kim Alternative Hair Solutions and founder of Alternative Hair Education & Business Solutions.
I’ve been a hairdresser for nearly 40 years. I began my career in Los Angeles and eventually moved with my family before to Alabama in 2013, where I built both of my companies. In that time, I have watched this industry transform. Twenty years ago, hair extensions barely existed. Today, they are everywhere.
Alternative hair is at the same tipping point right now.
Wigs, toppers, and bondable hair systems for both women and men are no longer rare, they are becoming a standard part of modern hairdressing. Yet most professionals have never been trained to offer them.
I created this program because there are not enough specialists serving the millions of people who need these solutions and because I know firsthand how powerful and profitable this work can be. I’m here to guide you into the future of hairdressing.

Through Alternative Hair Education Business Solutions, Kim shares her intimate knowledge of wig application and hair topper techniques. She empowers stylists to bridge the gap between technical precision and artistic beauty, ensuring every client leaves the salon feeling like themselves again.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with countless women and men experiencing hair loss, offering personalized solutions through wigs, toppers, extensions, and advanced bonding services. I hold numerous certifications in leading hair extension methods and companies and am proud to be a Master Stylist in Jon Renau wigs and toppers. I am also certified in both men’s and women’s bonding services, a member of the American Hair Loss Council, and have completed advanced hair restoration training.
After decades behind the chair, I recognized a major opportunity within the salon industry: many stylists are limiting their income to cuts and color alone, while alternative hair services can create life-changing results for clients and significantly increase salon revenue. That realization inspired me to launch Alternative Hair Education.
My mission is to teach stylists how to confidently introduce alternative hair services into their salons, build a thriving niche business, and create deeper, more meaningful client relationships. Alternative hair is more than just a service, it's an opportunity to transform lives while building a more profitable and sustainable salon career.
